Established since 1992, Andrew and Janice Kitchen of Andrew Kitchen Photography turned their photographic passion into their profession, specialising in creative wedding photography. Based from The Cottage in Brighthampton near Witney, Oxfordshire, Andrew and Janice's natural style has always been to photograph weddings in an informal and relaxed manner whilst recognising the need for an element of classical and traditional coverage.

Each wedding is unique for a variety of reasons - personalities, location and individual client needs and research before a couple's wedding day is essential; sometimes 2 or 3 meetings and often on site.

The objective has always been to produce a creative set of images with the minimum amount of fuss and time. Tact and diplomacy are also necessary ingredients for a wedding photographer as well as being able to blend into the background when required.

Working together as a husband and wife team allows Andrew to focus on reportage opportunities whilst Janice saves time and concentrates on co-ordinating family groups and portraits.

Work throughout the year predominantly comes via recommendation with bookings being made some 18 months in advance. Wedding photography is no longer seasonal with winter weddings becoming even more popular.

Andrew and Janice believe it is a privilege to be such an important part of a couple's wedding day. The enjoyment of continually meeting new people and the whole "wedding scene" is essential, otherwise it shows all too easily.

Andrew and Janice still very much enjoy the challenge of covering another wedding event - "our biggest compliment is that guests believe we are friends of the Bride and Groom, and so we describe ourselves as professional wedding guests".
